Facebook, Bye-bye for Google Friend Connect

Facebook has decided to end social relationship with Google Friend Connect, an enterprise search system that is used to add social features into a website. Facebook raised the reason that Friend Connect has been distributing user information from Facebook to other people, without the user notification and confirmation. This is considered as a violation of Facebook user privacy standards that should be respected and violation of Facebook Terms of Service.
Google’s official refuted and claimed that the users do not have access to control their data, and therefore Friend Connect authorize users to control their own data. Google added that the problem is in the user control and Google believe Friend Connect have a good Terms of Control to protect the privacy of users. Also there has been no further response from Facebook about what user’s data that by allegations have been distributed without user’s permission by Friend Connect.
