Find out more about
In the middle of high pressure and public discussion about the rule for children protection from violence, MySpace agreed taking steps to protect children and teenagers from influence of any online sexual violance and other types of fraudster. One of MySpace policy is making age verification system (age-verification technology) for member access.
MySpace as one of largest social network site that many of its members consist of both children and adolescents will create a regulation that is intended for professional companies to control their operations. Besides that, other social network sites will also participate on this policy. As delivered in Yahoo News, people must be responsible to tell children that when they communicate through the Internet, they not only are typing through computer, but are also introducing and sharing information about their self to other people.
Ideas about this protection appear after several social network sites such as MySpace and Facebook grew very rapidly in last few years, where most members are young people in all ages. This makes sexual ciminal and fraudster on Internet began influence young members of the community.
However, a brief announcement from MySpace can be considered is less explaination, how the steps taken can bring progress in handling this problem. There are still skeptical attitude and doubt about announcements from MySpace, because some people doubt it because ‘age-verification technology’ is very difficult to apply. Any fraudster or any online sex violence maker will always effort to overcome the matter in order to succeed their purposes.
