Find out more about
“The rich people should be grateful over the priceless gift from God. They will still continue to get it as long as they keep managing their charity for helping community. Thus they will have dignity for themselves.”
The Sentence was pronounced by Andrew Carnegie, a United States industrialist a century ago. This nouveau riche is so sure that rich people have moral responsibility to share the profits by giving charity donations. He stressed that all the wealth that exceeds the needs of a family is considered as grants for the welfare of the people.
If the nouveau riche were still alive, he might be moved to see the trend among nouveau riche and other rich people after him. Many of American rich people donate their wealth for the purpose of social and humanitarian such as Ted Tuner who spearhead the new era for rich people by donating USD 1 Million to support UN activities for humanitarian in September 1997.
Two years later, the richest people in the world, the other US nouveau riche, Bill Gates put himself in a monumental action in the history of philanthropic. The owner of giant software company, Microsoft, donated USD 16.5 Billion through his social foundation to help poor people in health.
Aside from that, Eli Board, a Billionaire coming from Los Angeles also have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to improve the quality of schools in various districts. Then, James Barksdale distributed hundreds of millions of dollars to fight “illiterate” among children in the area of Mississippi and Gorge Soros with his open society program in various parts of the world.
In addition, there are also some figures such as Chaterine S. Muther, the woman who encouraged the birth of business incubator groups among poor women in San Francisco, Mario Morino, eBayer Skoll, Martin Fisher, Jhon Alm, and many more.
And Andrew Carnegie is feasible to smile!
*Nouveau Riche is almost similar to “Rags to riches”, refers to very rich people who get their wealth through hard work and self-determination – Not from other people’s hard work or any inheritance (Wikipedia).
