Social Network Sites Beat Popularity of Porn Sites

The porn site seems to have been decreased in overall popularity of site searching traffic on Internet. In fact, traffic to social network sites such as Friendster, Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, has overcome porn site searching. The survey was presented by general manager of research company Hitwise, Bill Tancer in new book “Click: What Millions of People are Doing Online and Why It Matters.” This will soon become a major indicator of trend that is in the future.

Porn sites searching has decreased about 10 percent of all search queries, compared with ten years ago as much as 20 percent. For people 18 to 24 years old, they know where they can find favorite online adult sites, but Tancer found that they are not interested anymore with adult sites. Collaboration MySpace & MTV for MySpace Chart Program

MySpace and MTV, which is subsidiary of Viacom company is back to undertake weekly television show called MySpace Chart. However, this weekly special program held at MTV Station and can only be enjoyed by twitter members in UK on MTV Two Channel (in US it’s equivalent with MTV2 channel).

Each week the members of MySpace will hold a music selection voting that will be broadcasted for 1 hour in MySpace Chart on MTV Two. Viacom, the main company of MTV, the project also has its own social network, this distribution service called Flux. However, with the collaboration of MTV and MySpace will make Viacom has more additional audience on the site. Audience for MTV Two and MySpace are same basically, not only because both are very keen on music, but they also have strong influence on the trend of music and artists that will come, so it is necessary for both MTV and MySpace. MySpace Agreed Protection Issue for Children

In the middle of high pressure and public discussion about the rule for children protection from violence, MySpace agreed taking steps to protect children and teenagers from influence of any online sexual violance and other types of fraudster. One of MySpace policy is making age verification system (age-verification technology) for member access.

MySpace as one of largest social network site that many of its members consist of both children and adolescents will create a regulation that is intended for professional companies to control their operations. Besides that, other social network sites will also participate on this policy. As delivered in Yahoo News, people must be responsible to tell children that when they communicate through the Internet, they not only are typing through computer, but are also introducing and sharing information about their self to other people.
